This is a critical leadership position requiring a strong site presence, exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple contractors and disciplines within a complex operating environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the owner’s construction team and provide direction to EPCM and construction contractors.
- Drive safe and efficient delivery of construction works from mobilisation through to commissioning support and handover.
- Monitor construction progress, productivity, contractor performance and schedule recovery activities.
- Manage brownfield interfaces, live operating plant interactions and critical site risks.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, project governance, quality standards and HSE obligations.
- Coordinate construction readiness activities including workfront planning, permits, isolations and resource planning.
- Manage stakeholder interfaces across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, HSE, Quality and Procurement teams.
- Oversee mechanical completion, punch list management, turnover documentation and final project handover.
You will bring:
- Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management or equivalent industry experience.
- 10+ years' experience in senior construction leadership or Construction Manager roles.
- Proven owner-side experience managing EPCM, EPC, D&C and construction contractors.
- Strong understanding of SMP, E&I, civil construction, brownfield works, shutdown interfaces and live plant environments.
- Demonstrated success delivering projects through construction, mechanical completion, commissioning and operational handover.
- Strong field leadership and visible commitment to safety.
- Extensive knowledge of brownfield construction methodologies and critical risk management.
- Expertise in construction planning, short-term scheduling, constraint management and execution delivery.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders, contractors and site-based teams.
- Strong understanding of quality systems, completions management and operational readiness processes.
- Excellent communication, leadership and decision-making skills.
- Lead a major capital project in a senior owner-side role.
- Influence project outcomes across construction, commissioning and handover phases.
- Work within a high-performing project leadership team.
