About the role Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will be responsible for developing civil designs and 3D models for major mining and infrastructure projects. The role has a strong focus on road design, earthworks, drainage, utilities, and non-process infrastructure.
You will work closely with engineers, designers, survey teams and project stakeholders to develop practical, high-quality design solutions while meeting project schedules and delivery requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Develop civil design models and drawings for large-scale mining and infrastructure projects
- Produce design documentation including:
- General Arrangements
- Plan and Profiles
- Drainage layouts
- Pavement designs
- Utilities
- Swept path analysis
- Create and maintain 3D design models using industry-standard software
- Import, manage and process survey, LiDAR and geospatial datasets
- Develop mapping and spatial information to support design and approvals activities
- Coordinate with engineering disciplines to produce integrated design packages
- Manage drawing registers, revisions and document controls
- Participate in design reviews and project meetings
- Ensure designs comply with relevant Australian and project standards
- Support project delivery objectives relating to schedule, quality and budget
You'll bring:
- 8+ years' experience in a Senior Civil Designer position
- Strong experience in civil infrastructure, earthworks, drainage and road design
- Advanced skills in 12d Model and Bentley MicroStation
- Experience processing and managing geospatial datasets
- Working knowledge of GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro or Global Mapper
- Experience producing construction and detailed design documentation
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work effectively within fast-paced project environments
- Familiarity with BIM and 3D design environments
- Experience developing customisations or macros within 12d will be highly regarded
- Diploma of Civil Engineering or similar qualification preferred
- 12-month contract with strong project continuity
