Working closely with project teams, supervisors and contractors, you will play a key role in ensuring safe work practices, supporting investigations, conducting audits and providing expert advice on health and safety systems.
About the Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing health and safety leadership across site operations
- Coaching and mentoring leaders, employees and contractors
- Conducting field leadership activities, inspections and observations
- Reviewing JHAs, permits and high-risk work documentation
- Assisting with incident investigations and corrective actions
- Facilitating risk assessments and risk review workshops
- Supporting contractor management and safety compliance activities
- Monitoring safety performance and reporting metrics
- Participating in audits and continuous improvement initiatives
- Promoting proactive risk management and safety excellence
- Experience in construction, mining, resources, energy or industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and safety management systems
- Experience with contractor management and risk management processes
- Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills
- ICAM or equivalent incident investigation training
- Current C Class Driver's Licence
- Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety or a related discipline
- Internal Auditor qualification in WHS Management Systems highly regarded
