We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to support the procurement of goods and services across a busy operational environment. Reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor, you will be responsible for purchasing, expediting and coordinating materials and services while ensuring cost-effective, timely and compliant procurement outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchase and expedite materials, equipment, parts and services in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Source competitive and reliable suppliers and manage RFQ processes.
- Support cost-saving initiatives across capital, maintenance and operational expenditure.
- Ensure goods and services are procured to the required specifications, quality and delivery timeframes.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure correct material costing.
- Monitor supplier performance and expedite orders to meet business requirements.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver efficient purchasing support.
- Ensure compliance with procurement, commercial and governance requirements.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a purchasing, procurement or buyer role.
- Experience within the mining, resources, industrial or heavy industry sectors is highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of purchasing, inventory management, logistics and procurement processes.
- Knowledge of commercial purchasing practices and contract terms.
- Proficiency using SAP for procurement and purchasing activities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
