Join a high-performing project team delivering critical infrastructure and construction projects across a major mining operation. Our client is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to provide technical leadership and support across multiple projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.
Reporting to the Project Superintendent, you will work closely with site and Perth-based teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. You will play a key role throughout project development, construction, commissioning, and close-out phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support across multiple projects and contractors on site
- Support project delivery to achieve scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives
- Manage technical aspects of studies, design, and project development
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Supervisors, and contractors
- Participate in project planning, risk assessments, and kick-off meetings
- Facilitate weekly project team meetings
- Oversee commissioning planning and execution
- Manage Technical Queries (TQs), NCRs, ITPs, and project close-out documentation
- Conduct field leadership activities and critical control monitoring
- Participate in incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure stakeholder handovers are completed following commissioning
- Maintain compliance with business management systems and project governance requirements
- Engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience
- Proven experience in a Project Engineer role within mining, resources, or heavy industry
- Strong SMP (Structural, Mechanical & Piping) project experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
- Experience working with contractors in an operational mine site environment
- Strong understanding of commissioning, quality management, and project controls
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and operational excellence
- Collaborative leadership style with a hands-on approach to project delivery
- 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster
