Drive the Delivery of Major Mining & Process Infrastructure Projects We are seeking an experienced Principal Project Engineer to join a high-performing owner's team delivering a portfolio of brownfield expansion, refurbishment, and project development initiatives within the resources sector.

This is a hands-on opportunity for an outcomes-focused project professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment where engineering, execution, and decision-making intersect. You will play a key role in driving project outcomes, managing interfaces, and providing technical leadership across multiple disciplines.

About the Role Reporting into the project leadership team, you will be responsible for leading project engineering activities from study phases through to execution, ensuring scope, schedule, cost, and technical objectives are achieved.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading project engineering activities across multiple workstreams
  • Coordinating engineering, construction, and contractor interfaces
  • Driving project outcomes and solving execution challenges
  • Managing risks, priorities, and project delivery requirements
  • Supporting studies, development activities, and project execution phases
  • Working closely with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Providing technical leadership across multidisciplinary project teams
About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:

  • Proven experience in brownfields, refurbishment, expansion, or mine start-up projects
  • Strong project engineering capability within mining, minerals processing, or heavy industry environments
  • Experience operating within lean owner's teams
  • Ability to work effectively in dynamic and evolving project environments
  • Strong commercial awareness and practical decision-making skills
  • Broad technical knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Highly regarded:

  • Exposure to leaching or hydrometallurgical operations
  • Experience supporting feasibility studies, detailed engineering, and execution phases
  • Background working across both engineering and project delivery functions
