An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Pipeline Engineer to play a key role in the delivery of a major pipeline installation project in Western Australia. The position will commence with approximately 3 months in Perth, supporting tender activities, engineering reviews, procurement coordination and construction planning, before transitioning to a 6-month site-based assignment overseeing the successful installation of a 25km underground 1050DN steel pipeline.

This is a hands-on role suited to an engineer who enjoys being involved across the full project lifecycle, from planning and preparation through to construction, commissioning and handover.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate pipeline construction activities throughout project delivery.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications and engineering documentation.
  • Support tender evaluations, engineering reviews and construction readiness activities.
  • Liaise with contractors, consultants, project managers and stakeholders to resolve technical and construction issues.
  • Monitor contractor performance, construction progress, quality outcomes and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections and ensure works are performed in accordance with relevant standards, codes and project specifications.
  • Assist with procurement activities and inspection of materials and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation including red-line markups, testing records and as-built drawings.
  • Identify project risks, construction challenges and schedule impacts, implementing practical solutions where required.
  • Provide technical support during construction, commissioning and project handover.
  • Promote and participate in HSE initiatives, ensuring safe work practices are maintained across all activities.
To be successful, you will ideally possess:

  • Degree qualifications in Mechanical, Civil or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale pipeline construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of underground steel pipeline installation methodologies.
  • Experience working closely with construction contractors and site teams.
  • Capability to manage technical, quality, safety and schedule outcomes simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working on resource, infrastructure, oil & gas or heavy industrial projects.
  • Commitment to safety leadership and continuous improvement.
