A Tier 1 mining operation is seeking an experienced Mining / Civil Engineer to lead engineering and operational delivery for a small-scale bauxite mining operation supporting a major life-of-mine extension.
This is a technically focused leadership role overseeing planning, civil infrastructure, and contractor-led mining activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant production outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver integrated mine plans (short, medium, long term)
- Oversee open pit sequencing, haul roads, drainage, and site infrastructure
- Lead rehabilitation and closure planning activities
- Align mine planning with approvals, environmental, heritage, and project requirements
- Identify and manage key risks, constraints, and production drivers
- Provide technical oversight to a bulk earthworks contractor
- Drive HSEC compliance and regulatory adherence
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimisation
- Engage with stakeholders including contractors, regulators, and Traditional Owners
- Degree qualified in Mining or Civil Engineering
- Strong open cut mining experience (bauxite or bulk materials preferred)
- Proven capability across mine planning, scheduling, and earthworks delivery
- Solid understanding of drainage, civil infrastructure, and rehabilitation
- Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
- Commercially aware with experience managing budgets and production targets
