Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of design engineers and technical professionals.
- Develop water management strategies and review water management plans throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare project scopes, technical specifications, design reports, and engineering documentation.
- Provide technical guidance to project engineers, consultants, contractors, and design teams.
- Undertake hydraulic modelling and calculations for pipelines, borefields, pump stations, tanks, ponds, and associated water infrastructure.
- Oversee the preparation of construction drawings, pipeline schematics, P&IDs, general arrangements, quantity estimates, and equipment selection.
- Facilitate design reviews, site inspections, and stakeholder workshops.
- Contribute to capital cost estimates, MTOs, and project planning activities.
- Support operational readiness requirements and construction-phase technical queries.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable Australian standards, statutory requirements, and industry best practice.
- Communicate design progress, risks, issues, and changes effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering (preferred), Civil Engineering, or Chemical Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in mechanical piping systems and pipeline design.
- Strong exposure to mining, resources, water infrastructure, or engineering consultancy environments.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and manage technical deliverables.
- Solid understanding of Australian standards and regulatory requirements relevant to mining and water infrastructure.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to deliver quality outcomes within project schedules.
- Full Australian working rights are essential.
