An opportunity exists for an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established engineering consultancy delivering major resources and mineral processing projects across Australia and internationally.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will lead the delivery of mechanical engineering designs, provide technical guidance, and ensure high-quality project outcomes across studies, detailed design, and project execution phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical engineering design activities for mineral processing projects
- Review and approve mechanical drawings and design deliverables
- Perform engineering calculations and technical assessments
- Ensure designs comply with project, client and regulatory requirements
- Interpret technical specifications, scopes and engineering documentation
- Identify scope changes and prepare supporting documentation
- Support equipment selection, procurement and vendor engagement
- Mentor and guide engineers and designers within the project team
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams
- Degree qualified Mechanical Engineer
- 8+ years' experience within mining, mineral processing or heavy industry
- Strong background delivering mechanical design within EPCM or consulting environments
- Experience leading engineering teams and coordinating project deliverables
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational abilities
- High attention to detail and commitment to engineering quality
