Lead Mechanical Engineer | Perth CBD | Mining & Mineral Processing Projects

An opportunity exists for an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established engineering consultancy delivering major resources and mineral processing projects across Australia and internationally.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will lead the delivery of mechanical engineering designs, provide technical guidance, and ensure high-quality project outcomes across studies, detailed design, and project execution phases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead mechanical engineering design activities for mineral processing projects
  • Review and approve mechanical drawings and design deliverables
  • Perform engineering calculations and technical assessments
  • Ensure designs comply with project, client and regulatory requirements
  • Interpret technical specifications, scopes and engineering documentation
  • Identify scope changes and prepare supporting documentation
  • Support equipment selection, procurement and vendor engagement
  • Mentor and guide engineers and designers within the project team
  • Liaise with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams
About You
  • Degree qualified Mechanical Engineer
  • 8+ years' experience within mining, mineral processing or heavy industry
  • Strong background delivering mechanical design within EPCM or consulting environments
  • Experience leading engineering teams and coordinating project deliverables
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational abilities
  • High attention to detail and commitment to engineering quality
