An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Lead Civil Engineer to join a growing engineering team based in Perth. Reporting to the Principal Civil Engineer, you will lead the delivery of civil engineering design across major projects, providing technical leadership, mentoring design teams, and ensuring high-quality engineering outcomes. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams and global offices, you'll play a key role in delivering earthworks, roads, stormwater and site infrastructure designs from concept through to construction support.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of civil engineering design for earthworks, roads, stormwater and site infrastructure projects.
- Provide engineering direction and oversight to 12D Civil Designers.
- Manage day-to-day civil design activities, project priorities and technical deliverables.
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, reports and design documentation.
- Review 2D drawings and 3D civil models to ensure compliance with project requirements and engineering standards.
- Review bulk earthworks models, volume calculations and material take-offs (Schedule of Quantities).
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams including structural, mechanical and concrete disciplines.
- Collaborate with international offices to deliver high-quality engineering outcomes.
- Provide technical support during construction by responding to design queries and liaising with site personnel.
- Assist with project estimating, budgeting, resource planning and schedule management.
- Attend client and project meetings while providing regular progress updates to the Principal Civil Engineer.
- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Extensive civil engineering experience, ideally 30+ years in design and project delivery.
- Strong experience designing civil earthworks, roads and stormwater infrastructure.
- Experience with sewerage and site infrastructure projects is advantageous.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineering teams and technical deliverables.
- Strong understanding of civil design principles, earthworks modelling and quantity calculations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience within the mining, resources or heavy industrial sectors is highly regarded.
