Working closely with project stakeholders, contractors and site leadership teams, you will champion a safety-first culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide hands-on HSE leadership across all construction activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the Principal's dedicated HSE Representative on site.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety-first culture across the project.
- Monitor, audit and report on contractor HSE performance and compliance.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, field reviews and HSE assurance activities.
- Track audit findings and corrective actions through to close-out.
- Review contractor HSE plans and identify compliance gaps.
- Support incident, hazard and performance reporting.
- Ensure compliance with project, client and legislative HSE requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with project teams, contractors and stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualifications in Health, Safety & Environment or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in a site-based HSE role within construction, infrastructure, energy or major projects.
- Strong understanding of HSE legislation, standards and compliance requirements.
- Experience auditing contractor safety management systems.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- The ability to influence positive safety behaviours and manage conflict professionally.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience within renewable energy projects will be highly regarded.
- HSE Auditor qualifications will be advantageous.
Location: Regional South Australia (residential/site-based)
Roster: Monday to Friday (5/2)
Hours: 10-hour days
Duration: Approximately 2.5–3 years
