The Role As a Senior Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in promoting and ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of all personnel on site. You will provide expert advice and coaching across construction and project teams, support the implementation of health and safety management systems, and actively contribute to continuous safety improvement initiatives.
A strong emphasis will be placed on proactive safety leadership, contractor engagement, and practical risk management in a construction or brownfields environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive strong field engagement, spending the majority of time interacting with frontline personnel and contractors
  • Ensure construction activities comply with statutory requirements, safety management systems, and permit processes
  • Review and verify safety documentation including JHAs, SWMS, permits, and high‑risk work certifications
  • Support and lead incident investigations, including ICAM or equivalent methodologies
  • Actively participate in contractor management processes, audits, and safety performance reviews
  • Facilitate and participate in risk workshops, including CRAs, TBRAs, and task‑based risk assessments
  • Monitor safety performance and support contractors in achieving agreed safety KPIs
  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly safety reports, including field observations and trends
  • Support mobilisation and onboarding of contractors from a safety perspective
  • Assist with the development and promotion of safety initiatives and major hazard controls
  • Ensure random drug and alcohol testing requirements are met
About You
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction, mining, processing, oil & gas, or heavy industry environments
  • Demonstrated experience working with contractors in active site or project environments
  • Strong operational risk management and incident investigation experience
  • Proven ability to influence leaders and frontline teams through coaching and engagement
  • Practical, solutions‑focused mindset with the ability to perform under pressure
  • Highly organised with strong time management and reporting capability
Qualifications & Certifications
  • Tertiary qualification in Workplace Health & Safety (or equivalent)
  • ICAM or equivalent incident investigation training
  • Internal Auditor qualification (WHS Management Systems)
  • Current C or CA Class Western Australian Driver’s Licence (or equivalent)
  • Certificate IV Training & Assessment and/or Leadership & Management (desirable)
What’s on Offer
  • Site‑based role within a structured project delivery environment
  • Strong exposure to construction and contractor interfaces
  • Opportunity to influence safety culture through proactive leadership
  • Long‑term potential within a safety‑focused organisation
