This role is key to the successful supervision and delivery of electrical construction works across surface and underground areas. You will work closely with engineering, ventilation, and contractor teams to ensure works are completed safely, compliantly, and to schedule.
Key Responsibilities Supervision & Leadership
- Supervise and coordinate electrical crews and contractors across surface and underground works
- Provide strong on-site leadership with a focus on safety, quality, and productivity
- Ensure compliance with site procedures, Australian Standards, and statutory regulations
- Support planning, execution, and coordination of works with multi-disciplinary teams
- Supervise electrical installation, upgrades, and commissioning of primary ventilation fans
- Oversee electrical works associated with ventilation raises, shafts, ducting, and airflow regulators
- Manage electrical scope for bulk air cooling (BAC) plants
- Supervise electrical works related to refrigeration plants (surface and/or underground)
- Support installation and integration of chilled water reticulation and distribution systems
- Supervise HV and LV electrical distribution infrastructure supporting increased cooling and ventilation loads
- Coordinate significant power upgrades across surface and underground installations
- Ensure seamless integration with existing electrical and mine services infrastructure
- Review electrical drawings, work packs, and commissioning documentation
- Lead by example with a strong safety-first mindset
- Participate in risk assessments, JHAs, and toolbox meetings
- Ensure all electrical activities meet site, regulatory, and project safety requirements
- Trade-qualified Electrician with a current Electrical Licence (WA or eligible)
- Proven experience as an Electrical Supervisor on underground mining or heavy industrial projects
- Strong exposure to ventilation systems, bulk air cooling, refrigeration plants, and/or major power infrastructure
- Solid understanding of HV/LV distribution within mining or industrial environments
- Demonstrated ability to supervise contractors and site-based teams
- Strong leadership, communication, and safety management skills
- Experience on large-scale underground infrastructure or mine expansion projects
- Exposure to chilled water systems or refrigeration plant electrical works
- FIFO experience within Australia
- Long-term underground infrastructure project
- Technically complex and critical electrical scope
- Strong site support and safety-focused culture
