An experienced Civil Supervisor is required to support a major underground infrastructure package, overseeing the delivery of critical civil works linked to ventilation upgrades, cooling systems, and power and services infrastructure.
This is a hands-on, site-based leadership role suited to a Supervisor with strong civil construction experience in mining or heavy industrial environments, working closely with multi-disciplinary construction teams to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with design, quality, and schedule requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Site Coordination
- Supervise and coordinate civil construction activities across multiple work fronts
- Lead contractors and subcontractors to ensure safe and productive execution of works
- Provide daily direction, prioritisation, and on-site problem solving
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, and construction plans
Ventilation Infrastructure
- Civil works associated with ventilation fan installations
- Excavation, foundations, and concrete works for vent raises and shafts
- Structural works supporting underground ducting and airflow infrastructure
- Civil construction support for bulk air cooling (BAC) plants
- Foundations and structures for refrigeration plants (surface and/or underground)
- Trenches, plinths, and supports for chilled water reticulation systems
- Infrastructure supporting ice or chilled water distribution systems
- Civil works supporting major power upgrades
- Foundations and trenches for HV and LV electrical distribution
- Coordination with electrical and mechanical teams to integrate civil works with existing mine services
- Champion safety leadership and maintain strong HSE standards
- Conduct pre-starts, toolbox talks, and daily risk assessments
- Ensure compliance with site procedures, legislation, and environmental standards
- Provide daily progress updates to construction and project management teams
- Assist with short-term planning, look-ahead schedules, and work sequencing
- Identify, manage, and escalate construction risks or constraints
- Proven experience as a Civil Supervisor on mining, underground, or heavy industrial projects
- Strong background in concrete, earthworks, structural foundations, and services civils
- Experience supporting ventilation, cooling, or power infrastructure works highly regarded
- Ability to manage multiple contractors and work interfaces
- Strong understanding of HSE requirements in high-risk environments
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Trade qualification or relevant civil construction background
- Previous site-based supervisory or frontline leadership experience
