This is a site‑based representative role, overseeing contractor activities and acting as a key link between contractors and project delivery teams. You will play a hands‑on role in driving safety standards, coordinating work fronts, and ensuring works are delivered in line with approved methodologies, schedules, and site requirements.
Travel across sites may be required depending on operational needs.

The Role As Civil Site Specialist, you will provide strong field leadership, champion safety and operational discipline, and support the successful execution of construction and maintenance activities. You will engage daily with contractor crews, monitor progress against plan, and proactively resolve or escalate issues to minimise delays and safety risks.
This role suits an experienced, practical professional who is comfortable working autonomously in fast‑paced construction environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify hazards and ensure appropriate risk controls are implemented
  • Recognise energy‑release risks and apply the hierarchy of controls
  • Conduct regular field leadership engagements and inspections
  • Ensure safe site access prior to contractor mobilisation
  • Accurately report hazards, incidents, and near misses
  • Support risk assessment development in collaboration with contractors and project teams

  • Work with contractors to plan rolling schedules and manage interfaces
  • Monitor actual vs planned performance and challenge unrealistic timelines
  • Review upcoming work to identify and mitigate clashes, delays, or downtime
  • Liaise with engineering and project teams to support technical resolution
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build strong working relationships with contractors, site teams, and internal stakeholders
  • Coach and influence contractor teams to deliver safe, quality outcomes
  • Clearly communicate expectations, priorities, and site requirements
  • Manage workload effectively while meeting project delivery objectives
About You
  • Trade qualification or tertiary qualification in Engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in construction, shutdowns, maintenance engineering, or heavy industry environments
  • Strong understanding of civil and field construction activities
  • Proven ability to coordinate contractors and multiple work fronts
  • Confident communicator with strong coaching, influencing, and relationship‑building skills
  • Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable working under pressure
