Building Services Engineer
 
 Specific Responsibilities

     ·    Analyses product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs that can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.

·         Determines feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors.

·         Provides technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations that affect long range plant and product engineering planning.

·         Confers with personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develops design.

·         Prepares or directs preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics.

·         Compiles and analyses operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment or product.

·         Analyses test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.

·         Evaluates engineering test results for possible application to developments of systems or other uses.

·         Liaison with other discipline engineers, design drafter(s), and sub-consultants, to ensure optimal design outcomes, and coordinated and efficient design efforts.

·         Considers all Environmental impacts of engineering work including but not limited to energy efficiency.

·         Contribute to the development of systems and procedures to ensure all engineering elements of studies and projects comply with statutory and regulatory requirements, and company policies and practices.

·         Develop systems and procedures to ensure all engineering elements of the project comply with conditions and parameters set out in project scopes of works and design criteria.

·         Engineering and producing system / layout designs from conceptual to basic and detail engineering phases, ensuring designs are safe to construct, operate and maintain.

·         Calculation of costs, and assist in determining feasibility of projects based on analysis of collected data, and / or previous studies.

·         Develop and maintain standard specifications and drawings, with the aid of design engineers and design drafters, ensuring that project specific requirements are incorporated.

·         Develop, or assist in developing, the detailed project engineering schedule for the area of responsibility.

·         Develop, or assist in developing, the engineering man-hour budget relevant to the area of responsibility, and allocation against discrete work packages.

·         Monitoring and assist reporting of overall team design progress and forecasts.

Education and Experience

·         Relevant tertiary building services engineering qualifications.

·         Three years engineering design and consulting experience.

·         Demonstrated commercial acumen in the engineering and construction environment.
